[:en]Brand management is not easy. And somebody at Daimler seems to be quite challenged with it.

Going back a bit, it was difficult to understand the change from Daimler Benz to Daimler. The immediate impact was royalties to be paid to the English competitor Daimler. Equally questionable was the revival of Maybach. As we know, that failed.

And now Daimler wants to revive yet another label, Pullmann. What will the product be called?

What a mouth full. Where will that be on the car?

Did they forgot, that originally a Pullman was a train car? And that today, probably Pullmann is known as a chain of hotels?

Quiksilver meldet weitere Lizenzen in diversen Kategorien.

Neuer Lizenznehmer für Kinderbekleidung unter der Marke Roxy ist Parigi Group. Für Frühjahr/Sommer 2015 soll Ware verfügbar sein. Das Lizenzgebiet umfasst die USA, Kanada und Puerto Rico, sowie einige Länder in Mittel- und Süd-Amerika.

Für Uhren unter den Marken Quiksilver, Roxy und DC vergab Quiksilver eine Lizenz an die E.Gluck Corporation.

Ebenfalls für alle drei Marken ist Planet Sox der neue Lizenznehmer für Strümpfe und Socken.

Gepäck, Rucksäcke und Taschen kommen zukünftig vom neuen Lizenznehmer Travel Plus International.

The Northwest Company arbeitet an Strand- und Badetüchern sowie Strand-Accessoires.

Die Lolli Marke Chupa Chups hat eine Lizenz für Schreibwaren vergeben.

Der Lizenznehmer ist Dohe.

Im April nächsten Jahres sollen Notizhefte, Ordner, Tagebücher, Stifte und auch Rucksäcke auf den Markt kommen.

Chupa Chups partners with Dohe for stationery

Featuring a collection of notebooks, folders, diaries, back packs, purses and pencil cases, the range will be launched next April.

Chupa Chups has partnered with Spanish stationery brand Dohe to release a new stationery and back to school range for the territory.

Featuring a collection of notebooks, folders, diaries, back packs, purses and pencil cases, the range will be launched next April.

The range will draw from Chupa Chups extensive archive of artwork as well as the heritage of the brand with an additional vintage range.

Marta Ballesteros, senior brand manager at Perfetti Van Melle Licensing Division, said: “We are really happy to have Dohe on board.

“They have interpreted the brand very well, especially our vintage side.”

The Chupa Chups brand has a rich cultural heritage, its logo having been designed by Salvador Dali in 1969.

Ballesteros, added: “Dohe has opted for a nostalgic and retro collection, which fits perfectly in Spain, where the lollipop was first invented in the late Fifties.

“Dohe has created a great synergy with the Chupa Chups brand and has made an exciting addition to our family of licensed products.”

Markenmanagement ist keine einfache Aufgabe. Und irgendjemand im Hause Daimler scheint damit überfordert zu sein.

Bereits unverständlich war die Entscheidung, das Unternehmen Daimler Benz in Daimler umzubenennen. Dafür zahlt das Unternehmen nun Lizenzgebühr an den Britischen Konkurrenten Daimler.

Ebenfalls zweifelhaft war der Versuch, Maybach wieder zu beleben. Es scheiterte bekanntermaßen.

Nun kommt die Pressenotiz, dass Daimler den Pullman aus den 60er Jahren neu auflegen will. Und wie soll er heißen?

Was ein Marken-Ungetüm. Wie und wo soll das Auto damit markiert werden? Wer soll die Abgrenzung von Mercedes, S-Klasse, Maybach und Pullmann wie kommunizieren? Welcher Kunde soll das wie verstehen und dann auch noch behalten?

Ganz nebenbei scheint man zu vergessen, dass Pullmann ursprünglich ein Eisenbahn-Wagon war, und dass heute die Hotelkette Pullmann wahrscheinlich bekannter ist, als alle anderen eventuell existierenden Pullmann Produkte.
