According to WSJ, Estee Lauder is considering to buy the brand Tom Ford.

Along with Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford is one of the few internationally successful luxury brands of US American origin.

As Tom Ford licensee fragrances / cosmetics Estee Lauder has among the highest marketing expenses.

Thus, buying the brand can be very sensible and potentially a good investment.

Laut WSJ, erwägt Estee Lauder den Erwerb der Marke Tom Ford.

Tom Ford ist – neben Ralph Lauren – eine der wenigen auch international erfolgreichen Luxusmarken US Amerikanischen Ursprungs.

Als Tom Ford Lizenznehmer Parfum und Kosmetik hat Estee Lauder traditionell mit die höchsten Marketing-Aufwendungen.

Der Erwerb der Marke ist also durchaus sinnvoll und potenziell eine gute Investition.

 

Hugo Boss license for pet products

Via its trade mark management company, Hugo Boss signed an exclusive, fully integrated, 5 year brand license for pet products.

Following the fashion calendar, there will be two collections annually.

Product will be distributed via specialty retail, websites of the licensee and Hugo Boss,  selected brand stores and department stores.

Pet products have shown growth consistently over years now.

Der Haustiermarkt verzeichnet seit Jahren kontinuierlich Wachstum.

G-III takes over Karl Lagerfeld

For years, G-III owned ~19% of Karl Lagerfeld B.V. Now it takes over the majority of the brand.

Karl Lagerfeld B.V. was owned by Fred Gehring (Ex Hilfiger CEO), the Chou family, Apax Partners, Sandbridge Capital, PVH Corp, and management.

The brand Karl Lagerfeld is a challange.

While alive, Karl Lagerfeld worked for Channel, Fendi (LVMH), and famously as a first for H&M.

At the same time he licensed his brand for perfume, menswear, etc. The menswear licensee in the 1990s, Klaus Steilmann, wanted to enter higher price points and North America.
