[:en]According to WWD, Sonia Rykiel, now owned by Li & Fung subsidiary Fung Brands Ltd., signed a license for shoes. The licensee is the French shoemaker Robert Clergerie.

In der Unterhaltungselektronik haben einige Marken ihre Geschäftsmodelle umgestellt. Das gilt sowohl für alte Markenikonen wie AEG, Grundig, Telefunken, oder z. B. Agfa bei Fotosausrüstung, als auch für Marktgrößen wie Philips und Blaupunkt.

Und offensichtlich beginnen Lizenznehmer knapp zu werden. In Australien nahm z. B. der Lizenznehmer von Grundig, die Bush Australia, in 2012 auch die Lizenz von Blaupunkt. Und im März gab er die Grundig Lizenz zurück.

Es scheint, dass der UE Markt einen ähnlichen Prozess der Globalisierung und Konzentration durchläuft wie z. B. Parfum und Sonnenbrillen. Damit einher geht eine Verlagerung der Macht, weg vom Lizenzgeber zu den wenigen verbleibenden Lizenznehmern.

[:en]In the consumer electronics industry quite a few brands changed their business model over the recent years. They went from manufacturer or importer to licensor. That includes brand icons like Grundig, AEG, and RCA as much as more current brands like Philips and Blaupunkt.

It seems, that this lead to increased competition for licensees. In Australia f.e. the licensee of Grundig, Bush Australia, in 2012 took the additional license from Blaupunkt. And in March it returned back the Grundig license.

If the CE market undergoes the same concentration as the perfume or eyewear industry, soon the power will have shifted from licensor to the few remaining licensees.[:]
