Michael Kors Signs Jewelry License With Fossil

Fossil, Inc. and Michael Kors, Inc. announced to expand their relationship with the Michael Kors Fall 2011 jewelry collection, offering women’s earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings.Michael Kors first partnered with Fossil in Fall 2004 to launch the Michael Kors watch line.

Price points for pieces within the collection will range from $100 to $500. The jewelry will be available in select Michael Kors retail stores worldwide and sold through limited domestic and European wholesale partners beginning in Fall 2011.

LVMH übernimmt Bulgari

Der Französische Luxuskonzern erwirbt damit nicht nur eine extrem starke Schmuckmarke. Er stärkt auch das in-house Know How für Schmuck und Uhren.

Bulgari was 2009 und 2010 finanziell ins Trubeln geraten.

LVMH buys Bulgari

The French conglomerate of Luxury brands and products “merges” with Bulgari, or rather buys it.

For LVMH this has many positive aspects.
It gets a brand of Italian origin. Besides Donna Karan from the US, LVMH mostly owns originally French brands.
Also, LMVH gains a lot of know how in jewelry and watches, two areas the company is less strong then for example the Richemont group.
Bulgari’s strength is jewelry and there are not too many strong, global jewelry brands out there.
LVMH bought Bulgari after this had suffered two years of losses and financial difficulties.
