Laura Ashley with DRT license for “window treatments”

Laura Ashley announced another brand license, this time for “window treatments”.

The licensee is Blinds.com, an online retailer.

The line launches February 2011 and will be available exclusively through Blinds.com.

We are a big fan of Laura Ashley, the brand that occupies romance, but not of direct to retail licenses. Putting all eggs in one basket is just not a good idea.

Lotus relaunch

Die Britische Automobilmarke Lotus war zuletzt hauptsächlich mit Streitigkeiten um die Formel 1 Lizenz in den Nachrichten.

Nun will Lotus eine “neue Luxus Lifestyle Marke” etablieren, Lotus Originals.
Das Sortiment soll Outerwear, Strick und Lederwaren umfassen.

Die Produktkategorien sind bereits reichlich besetzt durch Marken und Lizenzen wie Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati und Lamborghini, Bugatti, Jaguar und Aston Martin, plus Dunhill, Davidoff, Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, etc.

The car brand Lotus has gone through ups and downs lately. For weeks the fight over the brand license for Formula 1 racing teams has made news. 

Now the brand wants to launch a “New Luxury Lifestyle Brand”, “Lotus Originals”.
It will offer outerwear, knitwear and leather goods. Lotus said it has carefully hand picked the very best suppliers and materials to work with to ensure that quality reflects the future of Lotus.

This is a very crowded place with car brands like Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini, Bugatti, Jaguar and Aston Martin, plus brands like Dunhill, Davidoff, Gucci, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, etc.
