Frederick’s of Hollywood Inc. goes to Authentic Brands Group Inc.

The purchase price is $22.5 million.

Authentic Brands Group is buying Frederick’s intellectual property, some inventory and its e-commerce business. The company will license the intellectual property to retailers and manufacturers.

Frederick’s, founded in 1946, closed all of its retail stores in April ahead of its bankruptcy filing April 19 with the offer from Authentic in place and $11 million in bankruptcy financing from its lender, Salus Capital Partners.

Frederick’s at one point was the leading brand in lingerie. Last year it accounted for less than 1% of the $13 billion market. Victoria’s Secret made 41.3% of that.

Reportedly, Gulf Oil International U.K. Ltd. has signed a long-term brand license agreement for Canada.

The licensee is XTR Energy Co. Ltd.

The Gulf brand has been defunct in Canada since Petro-Canada absorbed it in an $886-million deal in 1985.

The finishing touches are currently being put on the first station to sign on, in Port Colborne, Ontario. The company is targeting 20 new locations in the next year, and 100 within five years.

Ferrero SpA erwirbt den Britischen Süßwaren-Hersteller und -Einzelhändler Thorntons PLC.

In der Vergangenheit war der Besitzer von Marken wie Kinder und Nutella eher zurückhaltend mit Akquisitionen.

Der Spülmittelhersteller Fit erwirbt die Haarpflegemarke Gard von Doetsch Grether AG.

Fit stellt Handspülmittel, Maschinenspülmittel, Haushaltsreiniger, Waschmittel und Weichspüler her. In den vergangenen Jahren übernahm die Firma die Marken Rei, Sunil und Kuschelweich.
