Toshiba lizenziert Fernseher
Nach Gerüchten über einen Rückzug aus dem Geschäft mit Fernsehern erklärte Toshiba, dass es in den USA die Lizenz für die Marke an das Unternehmen Compal geben wird. Für Europa wird das noch geprüft.
Toshiba wird damit eine Lizenzmarke wie schon Sanyo, Sharp, Grundig, Telefunken und Philips.

After rumors about dropping out of the TV business, Toshiba announced to license its brand in the USA to Compal. For Europe it is evaluating its options.
Toshiba joins a long list of former TV makers, which turned to a licensing model among them Sanyo, Sharp, Grundig, Telefunken and Philips.
The firm has said it would focus on super high-definition 4K TVs in Japan and the rapidly growing emerging markets.
