National Geogrphic Brand License for Luggage

According to Licensemag, National Geographic has selected a licensee  for luggage and travel accessories for North America.

The Montreal-based Holiday Group and its U.S.-based subsidiary Travelpro International will introduce a line of travel gear at retail stores in the U.S. and Canada this fall.

Luggage is one of the most logical brand extensions for “Nat Geo”. It will also define the brand and is a challenge in this regard. You don’t want to have a miss there.

For quite a while, adventure luggage has been a domain of another license: Camel and Camel Trophy. But then Camel went from adventure to camel active and left a void.

Brand Value Ducati

Investindustrial, owner of motorbike company Ducati, is looking for a buyer.

The target selling price is a staggering one Billion Euro.
That would three times the amount, Investindustrial paid for Ducati.
Over the last few years Ducati invested heavily in its own retail stores, brand licenses and co-branding projects.

Last year an IPO was evaluated. Now a strategic investor is the goal.
