Duracell brand license for Generators

Eastern Tools and Equipment unveiled its line of Duracell generators to the home improvement market during the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas.

The licensed products were launched softly in November 2010 at the APEX automotive-after-market show in Las Vegas.

Price points run from about $299 for a 28-lb. inverter generator to $999 for a heavy-duty portable unit.

The Duracell generators operate at less than 5% total harmonic distortion – a measure of the cleanliness of the power – allowing for use with sensitive electronic equipment such as computers.

Good-bye Schreibmaschine

In Indien schloss die letzte Fabrik für mechanische Schreibmaschinen, Teil von Godrey and Boyce.

In den 90ern verkaufte die Firma noch bis zu 50.000 Geräte im Jahr, 2010 waren es dann nur noch 800.

Große Marken für Schreibmaschinen waren u. a. IBM, Remington, Adler, National, Olivetti, AEG, Olympia.

In ein paar Jahren wird der berühmte Slapstick von Jerry Lewis kaum noch jemandem etwas sagen.
Hier ist eine Aufzeichnung für alle, die noch Schreibmaschine schreiben durften:

Good bye typewriters

In India the last manufacturer of typewriters, Godrey and Boyce, closed the factory.

In the 90s the company still sold up to 50,000 typewriters annually. In 2010 sales had dropped to some 800 machines, sold to government offices mostly.

Already in the 80s many big name manufacturers had given up on typewriters. Big brands at one time were IBM, Remington, Adler, National, Olivetti, AEG, Olympia.

A few years from now, the famous Jerry Lewis piece will be awkward. Here it is, for an early morning smile:
