The brand expansion into other categories did not go as well as planed. Handbags still make up the chunk of revenues. And in that category Coach experienced stronger competition from Michael Kors and the somewhat rejuvenated Kate Spade.
Now Coach decided to buy Stuart Weitzman for $530M. It will pay up to $44 million in addition, if certain revenue targets are met over three years. Stuart Weitzman had revenues of about $300 million during the fiscal year 2014.[:]
