By acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk is buying one of the top media brands, a bullhorn, and a user base.
Somewhat similar to Barry Diller’s Dotdash, when it took over Meredith with established media brands (Entertainment Weekly, InStyle, EatingWell, Health, Parents).
In the future Twitter is supposed to switch from a pure advertising based business model to the (old) mix of subscriptions and advertising.
