adidas and Fila buy Golf labels

The sports market is competitive, especially the one for Golf products. This week adidas announced the acquisition of an American supplier for 70 Million.

Already last year, Fila Korea Ltd., owner of the Fila brand globally, bought Acushnet for US$1.255 Billion.

Originally Fila Korea was just a licensee. Then they bought the whole brand.
In 2011 they bought Acushnet at auction from Fortune Brands. Acushnet markets Golf clubs, balls, shoes, gloves and accessories under labels like Titleist and FootJoy.
