Skechers Markenlizenz für Uhren

Via Markenlizenz bringt die Sportschuhmarke Skechers in den USA Uhren auf den Markt.

Einführungstermin für den Handel ist Herbst 2011.

Skechers verfolgt seit einiger Zeit eine aggressive Lizenzpolitik und vergab bereits Lizenzen für Sportmode, Kinderbekleidung, Accessoires und Brillen.

Chinese keep buying companies and brands

The NY Times recently had an article about China investing in solar and technology companies.

But China also continues its buying spree in Europe. One of the recent acquisitions was the Swiss watchmaker Eterna.
The buyer was International Volant Limited, a subsidiary of Haidian-Group. The seller was F. A. Porsche GmbH.

Eterna is one of the very few companies, that still makes watch movements with about 70 employees and an annual turnover of 12 Mill. Swiss Franks.

Among others, Eterna also manufactures the watches under the brand Porsche Design. According to newspapers it will continue the license under new ownership.

The Haidian-Group markets watches in China under the two brands Ebhor and Rossini and has a market share of roughly 43 percent.

Skechers enters watch market via brandlicense

According to Licensemag, the exclusive U.S. licensee of watches and timepieces for Skechers, Glamm Industries, has partnered with Total Apparel Group’s Total Licensing to develop and market timepieces for Skechers USA.

The new collection will be available in U.S. retailers this fall.

Skechers is following a rather aggressive licensing policy. Within a relatively short time it placed licenses for sports apparel, kidswear, eyewear, accessories and now watches.

Weight Watchers Wein kommt in Lizenz auf den Markt.

Die zwei Weine, ein Rivaner Riesling und ein Rose, haben weniger Kalorien durch einen geringeren Alkoholanteil.

Grundsätzlich ist Wein ein beratungsintensives Produkt und dementsprechend fällt es Anbietern im Supermarkt schwer, ordentliche Preise zu erzielen.
Für die gesamte Branche ist es daher interessant, ob Weight Watchers erfolgreich wird.

The product differentiation is fewer calories through less alcohol.

The collection starts with a Rivaner Riesling and a Rose.

Traditionally, wine is a difficult product, which requires knowledgeble sales people. It is interesting to see, whether Weight Watchers as well known brand can crack this beverage category.
